"It is on Northern Ireland's turn to receive the participants in the school European project « Cultural Identity and Tourism development. This three year project directed by a French school, Lycee Giocante de Casabianca in Bastia, has been granted by the European Commission (Lifelong Learning Programme); it gathers institutions from 9 countries in Europe Its aim is to precise the identity (and stereotypes) of each of the participating countries and to valorize this identity by setting up tourism products. Results of the project are being disseminated through a website which will allow all interested parties an opportunity to view the students' work: http://www.tourismandidentity.info and http://www.tourismes.info/projet1.htm Local authorities, universities, tourist organizations serve and advise students involved in any way which may benefit the project. For instance, the French partner is supported by The French Federation of Technicians and Scientists in Tourism as well as CCM airlines. The later is well interested in this project because it proposes a brochure presenting cultural itineraries to Corsica: its support made it possible for Lycee Giocante to send an important delegation to Northern Ireland In Newtownabbey, by Belfast city, the 9 partners will participate in a tourist exhibition The partners : Albert Einstein Schule (Germany), Glengormley High School (United Kingdom), Grafiskt Utbildnings Center (Sweden), IES San Severiano (Spain), ITS Commerciale e per Geometri « Einaudi » (Italy), Järvenpään Ammattiopisto (Finland), KV Zurich Business School (Switzerland), Lycée Giocante de Casabianca (France), Strömmen Videregaende Skole (Norway) |
